Is this a private tour?

Yes. Your vehicle and driver are reserved for your party. You will not join a shared group. We can agree changes to your route, stops and accommodation before booking.

Where does the tour start and finish?

Pickup is at your hotel or riad in Fes and drop-off is at your hotel or riad in Marrakech. We recommend arriving in Fes the day before. Hotel nights in Fes and Marrakech are booked separately.

How much driving is involved?

This is a short tour with long road journeys. Allow about 7–8 hours of driving on day one, 4½–5½ hours on day two and 6–7 hours on day three, plus visits and breaks. Weather, traffic and road conditions can change travel times.

Can I skip the camel ride?

Yes. Tell us before booking and we can arrange a 4×4 transfer to the camp instead. Your proposal will confirm any changes and charges.

Which meals and stays are included?

The tour includes two nights: one at a Sahara camp with a private bathroom and one at a hotel or riad in Dades Valley. Two breakfasts and two dinners are included. Lunches, drinks and city hotel nights before and after the tour are separate.

Day 01 :

Fes to Merzouga, Camel Ride and Desert Camp

Leave Fes early and cross the Middle Atlas through Ifrane and the cedar forests near Azrou. Continue through Midelt and the Ziz Valley, with breaks for lunch and viewpoints over the palm groves. Reach Merzouga in time for a camel ride into the Erg Chebbi dunes when road and weather conditions allow. Enjoy dinner and settle into your desert camp. A 4×4 transfer can be arranged if you prefer not to ride a camel.

Day 02 :

Merzouga to Dades Valley via Todra Gorge

Wake early if you would like to see sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, leave Merzouga and stop in Rissani, a historic trading town near the old caravan routes. Market activity varies by day. Continue towards Tinghir and walk through Todra Gorge, where high limestone walls rise above the river. Travel on to Dades Valley for dinner and your overnight stay. Your driver will allow regular breaks for photographs, lunch and time outside the vehicle.

Day 03 :

Ait Ben Haddou and the High Atlas to Marrakech

Travel through the Valley of Roses and the Skoura area towards Ouarzazate. Continue to Ait Ben Haddou, a fortified village of earthen buildings on an old trade route between the Sahara and Marrakech. Walk through the lanes and climb to a viewpoint if you wish. Cross the High Atlas via the Tizi n’Tichka pass, with breaks along the way, then arrive in Marrakech. A film-studio visit or extra kasbah stop can be considered if time allows; this is already a full travel day. Your tour ends at your hotel or riad in Marrakech. Accommodation in Marrakech is not included.
