Private Morocco Honeymoon Packages

Private honeymoon trips in Morocco, planned around the two of you. A riad with a quiet courtyard in Marrakech, a tent among the Merzouga dunes, slow mornings by the sea in Essaouira. You have your own driver, your own pace and stays chosen to suit your budget.

Why Morocco for a Honeymoon

Morocco packs a lot into one trip. In ten days you can sleep in an old medina house in Marrakech, have lunch in a Berber village below Mount Toubkal, ride a camel into the dunes at sunset and finish with grilled fish by the Atlantic. For couples, that mix is the point: busy souks one day, nothing but sand and silence the next.

A honeymoon here also works because you never travel with strangers. Your driver stays with you from the airport to the last day, so you can stop for photos, skip a museum or sleep in without holding up a group. We plan most stops for two nights, so you are not packing a suitcase every morning.

Just the Two of You

No group bus and no strangers at the dinner table. Your driver picks you up when you are ready and stops wherever you want to stop.

Riads Made for Two

A riad turns inward around a courtyard, so the noise of the medina stays outside the door. Many have only a handful of rooms and a roof terrace for breakfast.

A Night in the Sahara

The Erg Chebbi dunes at Merzouga rise to around 150 meters. Watch the sunset from the sand, eat by the fire, then step out of your tent under a sky full of stars.

Slow Days on the Coast

Essaouira is a walled port with grilled fish, sea breezes and car-free lanes. It is the place to do very little after the long road south.

Romantic Places to Stay, Area by Area

Where you sleep shapes a honeymoon more than anything else. The places below are ones our team already recommends in our guides, from small riads to our Premium and VIP picks. They are examples, not fixed partners: we confirm availability and room types in your written proposal, and we can suggest others if you have a style in mind.

Marrakech: A Riad in the Medina

MARRAKECH — Two or three nights in a riad a short walk from Jemaa el-Fna. Couples love Riad Kniza, El Fenn and La Sultana Marrakech, all with roof terraces for a quiet evening above the city. For a palace stay, there is La Mamounia.

High Atlas: Mountain Lodges

ASNI, IMLIL & OUIRGANE — An hour or so from Marrakech. Kasbah Tamadot looks across the Asni valley; Kasbah du Toubkal in Imlil is simpler, with the last stretch on foot while a mule carries your bags; Domaine Malika in Ouirgane is a calm country estate.

On the Road South: Ait Ben Haddou

AIT BEN HADDOU — Kasbah-style riads with pools, such as Riad Maktoub, make a lovely stop between Marrakech and the desert. Arrive in the afternoon, swim, then walk to the old ksar when the light turns gold.

Merzouga: A Private Luxury Desert Camp

ERG CHEBBI — A furnished tent with its own bathroom, set among the dunes. Azawad Luxury Desert Camp is one of the camps in our guide. Your tent is private, but other guests may share the camp; a camp to yourselves is quoted separately.

Essaouira: Riads by the Sea

ATLANTIC COAST — Stay inside the medina near the ramparts and ask for a room with a sea view or a roof terrace. For a VIP stay, Heure Bleue Palais sits inside the medina walls and has a rooftop pool.

Chefchaouen: A Night in the Blue City

RIF MOUNTAINS — Stay the night so you can walk the blue lanes before day visitors arrive. Lina Ryad & Spa and Riad Dar Cherifa are both in the medina. On Premium and VIP trips, we book Taj Chefchaouen.

Want only the top tier? Our luxury and VIP Morocco tours page shows the palace hotels we can include, such as Royal Mansour, Dar Ahlam and Riad Fes.

Sample Morocco Honeymoon Itineraries

These are the three routes couples ask us about most. Each one is a real private tour on our site, and each one can change: add a night, swap a city, upgrade a hotel. Use them as the starting point for your own Morocco honeymoon itinerary.

7 Days: Marrakech, the High Atlas and Essaouira

Days 1–3: Land in Casablanca and see the Hassan II Mosque on the edge of the ocean, then drive about three hours to Marrakech. Two nights in a medina riad, a guided morning in the old city and a free afternoon for a hammam or the Majorelle Garden.

Day 4: Up into the High Atlas to Imlil for a walk and mint tea in a Berber village, then on to the Agafay Desert for sunset and dinner at a camp.

Days 5–7: West through argan country to Essaouira, with two nights by the sea and one whole day with nothing planned. On the last morning your driver takes you to Marrakech or Casablanca airport.

Good for couples who want romance without long drives. Note that Agafay is a stony desert about an hour from Marrakech, not the Sahara dunes.

7 Days: Marrakech and the Sahara

Days 1–2: Two nights in Marrakech, with a guided morning in the medina.

Days 3–5: Cross the High Atlas by the Tizi n’Tichka pass, stop at Ait Ben Haddou and sleep in the Dades Valley. Walk the Todra Gorge, then ride camels into the Erg Chebbi dunes for a night at a desert camp. The next day you explore the Merzouga area by 4×4 and stay a second night near the dunes.

Days 6–7: Back to Marrakech, then your airport transfer.

The desert is the star here, but be honest with yourselves about the driving: the return from Merzouga to Marrakech takes 9 to 10 hours with breaks.

10 Days: Chefchaouen, Fes, the Sahara and Marrakech

Days 1–2: Arrive in Casablanca, then travel via Rabat into the Rif Mountains for a night in Chefchaouen.

Days 3–4: The Roman ruins of Volubilis and Meknes on the way to Fes, then a full guided day in the Fes medina.

Days 5–7: Over the Middle Atlas to Merzouga, a day in the Sahara with a camel ride and a night at camp, then the Todra Gorge and the Dades Valley.

Days 8–10: Ait Ben Haddou and the High Atlas to Marrakech, a guided day in the city and your departure.

The most complete route for a first visit. For a slower honeymoon, we often add a second night in Chefchaouen or two nights in Essaouira at the end, which makes it an 11 or 12-day trip.

7-Day Tour: Marrakech, Atlas & Essaouira

7 DAYS · CITY, MOUNTAINS & COAST

7-Day Tour from Marrakech

7 DAYS · MARRAKECH & SAHARA

10-Day Tour from Casablanca

10 DAYS · NORTH, SAHARA & MARRAKECH

Have more time? The 12-day private tour from Casablanca and the 14-day private tour from Casablanca leave room for longer stays and the Atlantic coast.

Romantic Extras, Arranged on Request

None of these are included automatically. Tell us which ones you like and we add them to your proposal with the price, timing and what is included, so there are no surprises on the day.

Rooftop Dinner in Marrakech

A table for two on a riad or restaurant terrace, with the Koutoubia minaret lit up after dark. Best in spring and autumn, when the evenings are mild.

Hammam for Two

A private hammam with a black-soap scrub and massage, at your riad or a spa in Marrakech. Ask for a couples’ room when you book.

Hot-Air Balloon at Sunrise

Flights take off at dawn from the countryside outside Marrakech, with the High Atlas on the horizon. Very early pickup, about an hour in the air, weather permitting.

Private Dinner in the Desert

A table set on the sand away from the main camp, with lanterns and a fire, after the sun drops behind the dunes at Merzouga.

Best Months for a Honeymoon in Morocco

March to May and late September to November are the easiest months for a honeymoon that combines cities, mountains and the Sahara. Days are warm, desert nights are cool rather than cold, and rooftop dinners are comfortable.

June to August is hot inland, often 95 to 104°F (35 to 40°C) in Marrakech and Fes, and hotter in Merzouga. For a summer wedding, we plan early starts, long pool breaks and more time in Essaouira and the mountains, which stay fresher.

December to February brings sunny days around 64 to 68°F in Marrakech but cold nights inland, close to freezing in the desert. It suits city stays and evenings by the fire. Christmas, New Year and Easter are busy, so book riads early for those dates.

In 2027, Ramadan is expected to run from about February 8 to March 9. Travel is fine, though some restaurants and bars change their hours. More detail in our guide to the best time to visit Morocco.

Morocco Honeymoon FAQs

Yes, alcohol is legal for visitors. Licensed hotels, many larger riads, hotel bars and a good number of restaurants in Marrakech, Essaouira, Fes and Casablanca serve wine and beer, and Moroccan wine is worth trying. Many small riads have no license, and in Chefchaouen and at some desert camps the choice is limited or there is none. During Ramadan some places stop serving. If a glass of wine with dinner matters to you, tell us and we will choose stays that serve it.

There is no dress code for visitors, but in the medinas and villages you will both feel more comfortable with shoulders and knees covered. Light trousers, midi skirts and linen shirts work well. Swimwear is fine at hotel pools and on the beach. For the Hassan II Mosque, cover your arms and legs. Pack a warm layer for the desert, where nights are cold for much of the year.

Yes. Morocco welcomes millions of visitors every year, and most couples find that their biggest worry turns out to be pushy sellers in the souks. With a private driver and licensed local guides, you never have to find your own way at night or haggle over taxis. Keep the usual city habits: watch your phone and bag in crowds and agree on prices before you buy. Check your own government’s travel advice before you go.

March to May and late September to November. These months are warm enough for rooftop dinners and pool time, and comfortable in the Sahara. Summer works if you spend more time on the coast and in the mountains; winter has sunny days but cold desert nights.

Seven days is enough for Marrakech plus either the coast or the Sahara. Ten days lets you see Chefchaouen, Fes, the desert and Marrakech without rushing. With 12 to 14 days you can add two nights by the sea or an extra night at your favorite riad, and that slower pace is what makes a trip feel like a honeymoon.

We quote every honeymoon individually, because the price depends on a few clear things: the number of days, your package level, the specific hotels and room types (a suite costs more than a standard room), the season, and extras such as a balloon flight or a private dinner. Our tours carry a seasonal supplement over Christmas and New Year. Your written quote lists exactly what is included, and a 25% deposit confirms the booking.

Yes. Every honeymoon is private and built for you. Change the arrival city, add or drop places, choose your hotels, slow the pace or add extras. Your Sahara tent is private, but other guests may stay at the same camp; if you want a camp to yourselves, we quote that separately. Romantic extras are included only when they appear in your proposal.
