Tour Itinerary
Welcome to Morocco. Your driver will meet you at Marrakech airport and take you to your hotel or riad. Settle in and rest after your flight. If your arrival time allows, enjoy a short introduction to the city before your guided visit tomorrow.
Explore Marrakech with your local guide. See the Koutoubia Mosque from outside, then visit Bahia Palace and the Saadian Tombs, subject to opening hours. The palace shows the work of Moroccan artisans, while the tombs belong to the dynasty that ruled Marrakech in the 16th century. Walk through the medina’s workshops and souks and finish around Jemaa el-Fna square. Keep the afternoon flexible rather than rushing through too many sights. Majorelle Garden can be arranged separately with advance reservations.
Leave Marrakech after breakfast and cross the High Atlas via the Tizi n’Tichka pass. Stop for mountain views and breaks before visiting Ait Ben Haddou, the fortified earthen village on an old caravan route. Continue through Ouarzazate and the Valley of Roses to Dades Valley, where dinner and your overnight stay await. A film-studio visit can be arranged if time allows.
After breakfast, travel to Tinghir and walk through Todra Gorge, where high limestone cliffs rise above the river. Continue towards Merzouga, with breaks for lunch and photographs. In the late afternoon, take a camel ride into the Erg Chebbi dunes and enjoy sunset when conditions allow. Settle into your desert camp and enjoy dinner. A 4×4 transfer is available if you prefer not to ride a camel.
After breakfast at camp, meet your 4×4 driver to explore the Merzouga area. Visit Khamlia to hear Gnawa music and enjoy your included lunch. Stops around the dunes and a tea visit with a local family can be arranged when hosts are available and happy to welcome guests. Later, check into your desert hotel and relax. Quad biking, buggy rides and other optional activities cost extra.
Wake early if you would like to see sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, leave Merzouga and travel through Erfoud and the Ziz Valley towards Midelt. Cross the Middle Atlas, with breaks near the cedar forests and Ifrane when time allows. Arrive in Fes and settle into your accommodation. This is a long travel day, with regular stops for lunch, refreshments and photographs.
Explore Fes with your local guide. Walk through Fes el Bali, where workshops, markets and neighbourhood fountains still shape daily life. Visit a historic madrasa when open, see Nejjarine square and its fountain, and stop at a tannery viewpoint. View Al Quaraouiyine from the permitted public areas. Later, see the Royal Palace gates and the Mellah, the historic Jewish quarter. Your guide will adjust the route to opening hours, your interests and your walking pace.
Leave Fes after breakfast and travel to Meknes for a visit to its historic centre and monumental gates. Continue to Volubilis and explore the Roman ruins with a local guide, then drive north through the countryside to Chefchaouen. Settle into your accommodation and enjoy the blue lanes if arrival time allows. Monument visits depend on opening hours and restoration work.
Enjoy a short morning walk in Chefchaouen before travelling to Rabat. Visit Hassan Tower and the Kasbah of the Udayas as time and opening hours allow, then continue to Casablanca for your final night. If your flight leaves from Marrakech, we can arrange a longer transfer and a final night there instead. Your departure city is agreed before booking.
Enjoy breakfast before your private airport transfer. Your driver will confirm pickup around your flight time, allowing for traffic and check-in. The final overnight city and airport are agreed before booking, with departure from Casablanca or Marrakech. Breakfast availability before an early pickup depends on the hotel’s breakfast hours.

The deposit is non-refundable. If an emergency stops you from travelling, you can use it for a future trip within two years. Please contact us as soon as possible so we can explain the arrangements and any hotel cancellation conditions that apply to your booking.

The longest drives are on Day 6 (Merzouga to Fes through the Middle Atlas): about 7–8 hours, plus stops and breaks; and Day 3 (Marrakech to Dades via Ait Ben Haddou and Ouarzazate): about 6–7 hours of driving, plus visits and breaks. We leave early and stop regularly for meals, photos and rest. Times vary with traffic, weather and how long you stop along the way.
Most walking happens on the guided visits, including the short walk into Todra Gorge, the blue lanes of Chefchaouen, the Fes medina, the Marrakech medina and the Roman ruins of Volubilis. Expect uneven streets, slopes and some steps. Tell us about any mobility needs before booking and we’ll adjust the pace and visits. Comfortable shoes help.
Yes. Every camp we use has tents with private bathrooms. In the Comfort package the tents don’t have air conditioning, while the Luxury, Premium Luxury and VIP All-Inclusive packages include air-conditioned tents. We confirm the exact camp and tent category for your chosen package before booking.
Yes. Tell us before your trip if you’d prefer a 4x4 transfer to camp, and we’ll confirm the arrangements and any price difference in your proposal. The camel ride can also be shortened to suit your comfort and local conditions.
This tour finishes in Casablanca, with a transfer to Mohammed V Airport. If you’d rather fly home from Marrakech or Fes, tell us before booking so we can adjust the final night and transfer.
The tour includes nine breakfasts, three dinners and one lunch. Other meals are at your own expense unless your package includes more.
