Tour Overview
This tour suits travelers who fly into Agadir and want to see the south properly without rushing. You arrive and sleep by the beach, then spend a day with a local guide in Agadir: the kasbah hill, the fishing port for lunch, Souk El Had and the marina. On day three the road heads inland, with a stop in Taroudant, and crosses the Anti-Atlas to Ouarzazate. From there the route follows the Valley of the Kasbahs to the Dades Gorge, through Todra Gorge to the Erg Chebbi dunes at Merzouga, and back west to Ait Ben Haddou. The last drive crosses the High Atlas by the Tizi n’Tichka pass to Marrakech, with a guided afternoon in the medina before you fly home.

Tour Itinerary
Welcome to Morocco. Your driver meets you at Agadir Al Massira airport, about 25 minutes from the city, and takes you to your hotel near the beach. Rest after the flight, take a first walk along the promenade and have dinner wherever you like. If you land early, the beach is right there.

Spend the day with a local guide. Start up at Agadir Oufella, the old kasbah on the hill above the port, either by road or by the cable car. From the top you see the whole bay, and your guide will tell you how the city was rebuilt after the 1960 earthquake.
Go down to the fishing port for lunch: pick your fish from the stalls and have it grilled on the spot. In the afternoon, walk around Souk El Had, the big walled market with its fruit, spices, argan oil and crafts (note that the souk is closed on Mondays, so we plan around it). Finish at the marina and along the beach promenade as the sun goes down.

After breakfast, leave the coast and drive east through the Souss Valley to Taroudant, about 85 km away. Walk into the medina through one of the gates in its earth ramparts, look round the souk and have a coffee on the square.
Then the road climbs into the Anti-Atlas through Taliouine, where saffron is grown, and Tazenakht, known for its carpets. Stop for lunch on the way and arrive in Ouarzazate in the late afternoon for dinner and the night.

A short driving day. Head east to the palm oasis of Skoura and its old earth kasbahs, then through Kelaat M’Gouna, the rose town of the valley.
By early afternoon you are in the Dades Gorge. Walk among the red rock shapes locals call the “monkey fingers”, or relax on the hotel terrace and watch the cliffs change color. Dinner and the night are in the gorge.

Drive to Tinghir and walk into Todra Gorge, where the walls rise straight up on both sides of the river. Continue through Erfoud and Rissani to Merzouga, with a lunch stop on the way.
In the late afternoon, ride a camel into the Erg Chebbi dunes for sunset, then settle into your Sahara camp for dinner. A 4×4 transfer is available if you prefer not to ride.

Get up for sunrise over the dunes, then ride back for breakfast. Today is a long drive west along the oasis road, back through Tinghir, Boumalne Dades and Ouarzazate, with breaks for lunch and tea.
You arrive at Ait Ben Haddou in the late afternoon. Walk up through the ksar to the old granary at the top for sunset, then have dinner at your hotel facing the village.

Leave after breakfast and cross the High Atlas by the Tizi n’Tichka pass, at 2,260 m, stopping at viewpoints and Berber villages on the way down.
You reach Marrakech around lunchtime. In the afternoon, a local guide walks you through the medina: Bahia Palace when it is open, the souks and workshops, and Jemaa el-Fna square as it fills up in the evening.

Enjoy breakfast and any free time before your private transfer to Marrakech airport. If you need to fly home from Agadir, tell us before booking: the motorway drive back is about three hours, and we’ll plan it around your flight.
