Seven days works best when you choose a clear focus. You can make the Sahara the heart of your trip, explore the northern cities, or combine Marrakech with the Atlas and Essaouira. Trying to fit the whole country into one week leaves much less time to enjoy each stop.

Choose a region first
For a Sahara trip, allow for the long mountain roads. If avoiding long transfers matters more, select a northern or coast-focused route.
With one week, every long drive counts. Marrakech to Merzouga takes most of two days with stops, so a Sahara week is mainly a loop through the south. If you would rather unpack only once or twice, pair Marrakech with the Atlas and Essaouira, or focus on Fes and the north.

Can I see Marrakech, Fes and the Sahara in 7 days?
Yes, if you travel one way: start in Marrakech, cross the Atlas to Merzouga and finish in Fes, or the reverse. It is a busy week with two long driving days, so we usually suggest flying home from Fes rather than driving back.
Is one night in the desert enough?
One night gives you the camel ride, the sunset and the sunrise over the dunes. A second night adds a relaxed day around Merzouga. On a 7-day trip most travellers choose one camp night to keep time for the cities.
Which 7-day route is best for a first visit?
Marrakech, Sahara and Fes shows you the biggest contrasts in one week. If you prefer less time in the car, Marrakech, the Atlas Mountains and Essaouira is calmer and still very varied.
Can we add Chefchaouen in a week?
Only on a northern route, for example starting in Tangier or Fes. Combining Chefchaouen with the Sahara in seven days means too much driving, so for both we suggest at least 9 days.
Can we change the route or departure city?
Yes. These are suggested routes, not shared departures. Your private journey can start at any suitable Moroccan airport or port. We can change the direction, overnight stops and finishing city to suit your plans.
How much does a 7-day private tour cost?
The price depends on your dates, number of travelers, room arrangements, accommodation level and chosen route. Send us your preferences for a written quote. Travelers from the USA can request a quote in US dollars; international flights are booked separately.
