Tour Overview
Discover the High Atlas and Sahara on a private six-day journey from Marrakech. Cross the mountains to Ait Ben Haddou and Ouarzazate, stay in Dades Valley and continue through Todra Gorge to Merzouga. Enjoy a camel ride, a camp night and a private 4×4 excursion, with a second Sahara night at a desert hotel. Return to Marrakech for your final night before departure. The route includes five nights. Marrakech guiding and airport arrangements are confirmed around your flight times; extra nights can be added if you would like more time in the city.

Tour Itinerary
Welcome to Morocco. Your driver will meet you at Marrakech airport and take you to your hotel or riad. Settle in and rest after your flight. If your arrival time allows, enjoy a short introduction to Marrakech. If you would like to arrive through Casablanca, tell us before booking so we can revise the airport transfer and first day.
Leave Marrakech after breakfast and cross the High Atlas via the Tizi n’Tichka pass. Stop for mountain views and breaks before visiting Ait Ben Haddou, the fortified earthen village on an old caravan route. Continue through Ouarzazate and the Valley of Roses to Dades Valley, where dinner and your overnight stay await. A film-studio visit can be arranged if time allows.
Overnight in Dades Valley
After breakfast, travel to Tinghir and walk through Todra Gorge, where high limestone cliffs rise above the river. Continue towards Merzouga, with breaks for lunch and photographs. In the late afternoon, take a camel ride into the Erg Chebbi dunes and enjoy sunset when conditions allow. Settle into your desert camp and enjoy dinner. A 4×4 transfer is available if you prefer not to ride a camel.
Arrival in the small village of Merzouga at the foot of the golden sand dunes, we will have camel rides to the camp in the desert, the camp – accommodation has comfortable beds, individual showers, and toilets. At night, we will have a Moroccan dinner, enjoy playing drums around the fire, and listen to songs by Berbers in the desert. In addition, enjoy the stars in the clear sky.
Overnight in a Luxury Desert Camp in Sahara
After breakfast at camp, meet your 4×4 driver to explore the Merzouga area. Visit Khamlia to hear Gnawa music and enjoy your included lunch. Stops around the dunes and a tea visit with a local family can be arranged when hosts are available and happy to welcome guests. Later, check into your desert hotel and relax. Quad biking, buggy rides and other optional activities cost extra.
Leave Merzouga early for the return journey to Marrakech. Travel via Rissani, Alnif and Ouarzazate before crossing the High Atlas. Your driver will plan regular breaks for coffee, lunch and photographs. This is the longest driving day of the tour; departure time will be arranged to avoid night driving on the desert route. Arrive in Marrakech and settle into your accommodation.
Overnight in Marrakech
Enjoy breakfast and any free time your flight schedule allows before your private transfer to Marrakech airport. Your driver will confirm pickup around your departure, allowing time for traffic and check-in. Breakfast is included at your accommodation; availability before an early pickup depends on the hotel’s breakfast hours. If you plan to fly from Casablanca, tell us before booking so we can adjust the final night and transfer.

The deposit is non-refundable. If an emergency stops you from travelling, you can use it for a future trip within two years. Please contact us as soon as possible so we can explain the arrangements and any hotel cancellation conditions that apply to your booking.

The longest drives are on Day 5 (Merzouga to Marrakech via Rissani and Ouarzazate): about 9–10 hours of driving, plus breaks; and Day 2 (Marrakech to Dades via Ait Ben Haddou and Ouarzazate): about 6–7 hours of driving, plus visits and breaks. We leave early and stop regularly for meals, photos and rest. Times vary with traffic, weather and how long you stop along the way.
Most walking happens on the guided visits, including the short walk into Todra Gorge. Expect uneven streets, slopes and some steps. Tell us about any mobility needs before booking and we’ll adjust the pace and visits. Comfortable shoes help.
Yes. Every camp we use has tents with private bathrooms. In the Comfort package the tents don’t have air conditioning, while the Luxury, Premium Luxury and VIP All-Inclusive packages include air-conditioned tents. We confirm the exact camp and tent category for your chosen package before booking.
Yes. Tell us before your trip if you’d prefer a 4x4 transfer to camp, and we’ll confirm the arrangements and any price difference in your proposal. The camel ride can also be shortened to suit your comfort and local conditions.
This tour finishes in Marrakech, with a transfer to Marrakech airport. If your flight leaves from another city, such as Casablanca, tell us before booking so we can adjust the final night and transfer.
